When I was 12 years old, I got the Moulin Rouge soundtrack and played "Lady Marmalade" on repeat for weeks. My brother, who naturally hated all of my "girlie" music, never said a word. About a month later, when I stopped playing the song he said, "Finally. I didn't say anything because I knew you'd eventually wear it out. I was right."
He was right.
I have a history of playing current favorites until I can't stand them anymore. Like the quintessential radio DJ, overplaying Maroon 5 or Katy Perry to the point where our eardrums are begging for something--anything--else.
As I've grown older, I try not to overplay songs. Sometimes, however, I just can't help myself.
I've learned that a testament to a truly great song is when I play it over and over and never get tired of it. I could bore you with my long list of favorites that fit in this category, but today I want to share with you my most recent favorite that I can't stop listening to and is still amazing months later.
