I can't handle scary movies. When I was younger I watched The Sixth Sense and consequently had nightmares for months. And yes, I know—it's not even that scary! Much to the dismay of friends during Halloweens past, I would never accompany them to films that are guaranteed to make me cry from terror and/or disrupt my sleep. Hocus Pocus is about as radical as I get. (Bette Midler's—aka Winifred's—makeup still amazes and terrifies me!)
Trying to be brave this year, I broached the topic with G on Friday, mentioning that I'd be willing to watch the movie American Psycho with him. I've heard a lot about it over the years, and since it's a bit dated, it seemed like a safe bet. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), he doesn't own it. He mentioned he just bought This Is The End, and it could be a movie in-keeping with the Halloween theme. (Cause of "zombies and stuff.")
All I knew about this movie before he suggested it:
1) It was about the world ending. (Duh, Erin.)
2) It had the typical cast from every Judd Apatow/Seth Rogen movie.
3) Emma Watson made a cameo.
I felt like I knew exactly what to expect, because if you've seen one Judd Apatow movie, you've seen them all, right? (I could be wrong, because I haven't seen many.) My main reservation: I'm not a big Jonah Hill fan, and I knew he had a big role. But I figured I'd give it a shot.
